Lisa Warren comes to San Francisco CrossFit with a diverse and unique athletic background. Lisa was a gymnast through elementary school and in high school dabbled in a variety of sports, eventually sticking with track and field. Her strength and gymnastic skills helped her to excel as a pole vaulter and she vaulted throughout most of high school and college, while also competing in the triple jump, shot put and javelin.
Lisa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Occidental College in 2010 with a degree in Cognitive Science. Unsure of where to go next and ready for a change of scenery, Lisa surprised her family and friends by venturing off to work at the all-inclusive vacation resort Club Med in Florida and later in Turks and Caicos as a flying trapeze instructor and performer. Lisa spent a year working for Club Med soaking in the tropical sun, performing in nightly comedy, dance and circus shows, and teaching eager, sunburnt vacationers the art of flying trapeze.
Lisa returned home to Sacramento in the summer of 2011 and soon after moved to San Francisco to work at the San Francisco Circus Center. This is when Lisa discovered San Francisco CrossFit and fell in love with it immediately. Lisa relishes the competitive aspect of CrossFit and the mental and physical challenges that accompany it. She values the motivating and supportive community it revolves around and hopes more are drawn to its welcoming community. Lisa enjoys helping clients of all fitness backgrounds realize their true athletic potential. She desires to show others how to be happier, healthier and stronger through a CrossFit program emphasizing safe and efficient functional movements.
In 2013, Lisa placed 16th at the CrossFit Norcal Regionals. These days you can find her at the gym training hard for this year Regionals. When she’s not at the gym she enjoys Latin dancing, reading, skiing, flying on the trapeze, a good margarita and a nice long nap. Lisa has her CrossFit Level 1 Certification and is a NASM certified personal trainer.
