Jonathan Ide-Don
Jon joins San Francisco Crossfit as a forward-thinking physical therapist and coach who believes that every person has the potential to be healthy, athletic, and pain-free. Jon brings a warmth and dedication to his work with each person he encounters. Jon combines a manual therapy approach with strength and mobility training to help people improve how they move and feel, both inside and outside the gym.
Jon brings an extensive background in endurance athletics to San Francisco Crossfit, having completed many distance running races and triathlons. Early in his athletic career, Jon remembers shying away from the weight room and avoiding Crossfit due to an unfounded fear of getting hurt or getting slower as an endurance athlete. However, after being introduced to San Francisco Crossfit in 2013, he was immediately attracted to the San Francisco Crossfit relentless focus on proper movement and body mechanics to both prevent injury and enhance performance.
Jon received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of California San Francisco / San Francisco State University in 2010. Jon then went on to complete a fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy in 2013 from Kaiser Hayward, the first program of its kind in the nation. Jon also has a passion for teaching that he fulfills by teaching and lecturing at the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy on low back pain and injuries of the spine. Jon has clinical experience as a physical therapist working with people of all ages recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Jon believes that after rehab ends, there is endless potential for every person to continue to improve in all aspects of their lives.
