What year did you start CrossFitting?
2013
Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?
As a swimmer throughout my youth and college years, I was always active and part of some kind of team. “Adulthood” left a huge void in my life and I searched for a long time for the training environment and camaraderie that was such a key part of my life for so long. When I chanced upon the methods and community at San Francisco CrossFit it was everything I was searching for.
Why did you become a trainer?
Large portions of my swimming career were spent nursing nagging injuries, and I never was as good as I could have been. When I started to learn about fitness and recovery after college, I realized how much more I could have accomplished if I’d simply had the knowledge and the tools. I coach because I want to give others the physical and mental tools to lead better, fuller lives and achieve whatever it is that they’re passionate about.
What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?
Band assisted knee push ups.
What is your favorite cheat food?
Pizza slice + guacamole + tortilla chips + second slice of pizza on top. Seriously
What’s your favorite Superhero and why?
It’s a three way tie between Ant Man, Michelle Obama, and Lisa Warren’s biceps vein
